Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CodeMXM ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the GridLog: MGRS SAR Handover iPhone app ("App") and visit gridlog.codemxm.com ("Site"). GridLog is designed as a local-first field tool: your mission records stay on your device unless you choose to export or share them. gridlog.codemxm.com · Terms of Service
1. GridLog: MGRS SAR Handover privacy approach
GridLog: MGRS SAR Handover does not require an account and does not operate a mission cloud backend. By default, the App does not initialize third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. Mission content you create — coordinates, notes, photos, audio, and exports — is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device storage frameworks.
2. Information stored on your device
When you use GridLog, the App may store the following data locally on your device:
- Mission names, incident IDs, templates, and operator profile settings you enter.
- Waypoint coordinates, timestamps, accuracy, altitude, heading, classification, status, and notes.
- Photos and short audio recordings attached to waypoints (Pro features).
- Exported PDF, CSV, GPX, KML, GeoJSON, and ZIP files you generate.
- App preferences such as display theme, language, and quick-log button layout.
3. Device permissions
GridLog requests system permissions only to provide features you use:
- Location — to display MGRS/UTM coordinates, accuracy, altitude, and heading, and to attach position data to waypoints.
- Camera — to capture watermarked photo evidence at a waypoint (Pro).
- Microphone — to record short radio notes at a waypoint (Pro).
- Photo Library — if you choose to save or import images where supported by the system.
4. What we do not collect by default
In the current release, GridLog's telemetry master switch is off. That means we do not send mission content, location history, photos, or audio to CodeMXM servers through analytics or crash SDKs.
Apple may collect aggregated App Store and device diagnostics according to your iOS settings and Apple's policies. GridLog's App Privacy nutrition label reflects no data types collected by the developer for tracking.
5. Purchases
If you buy GridLog Pro, Apple processes payment and may share purchase status with us through App Store and in-app purchase infrastructure so we can unlock Pro features on your device. We do not receive your full payment card details.
6. When you choose to share data
Exports and shares you initiate — email, AirDrop, Files, third-party cloud apps, or agency systems — leave the App through channels you control. Review your organization's policies before transmitting mission records that may contain sensitive location or operational information.
7. Website visitors
The Site is primarily informational. Basic server or CDN logs may include IP address, browser type, and pages viewed for security and performance. If analytics scripts are enabled on the Site, they collect aggregated usage data without linking to your App mission content.
8. Data retention and deletion
Mission data remains on your device until you delete individual waypoints or missions in the App, or until you remove the App. Deleting photos, audio, or missions also removes associated media files stored locally by GridLog.
9. Children's privacy
GridLog is intended for trained field personnel and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International users
Because mission data is stored on your device, you maintain primary control over it. If you export records across borders, ensure compliance with applicable privacy and operational security rules.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
